What is usually the effort in checking for JIRA version compatibility? I am willing to do the work and submit a PR if I know how to test it.

In that case it would only be a matter of installing a jira 7 instance and
running/testing the plugin against it.

If it works, it's just a matter of releasing a new version in the
marketplace.

I am having issues even with 6.4.11. Let me see what I can do.

You can install (sideload) the .jar directly into Jira 6.4. Just access the Atlassian Marketplace on a webbrowser and download the jar file itself. It'll say it's not compatible but it'll still work. Otherwise you can compile the source for 6.4 and it'll work just fine.

I have a fork targeting version 6.4.4 (which is what my workspace uses). There's a buncha added features and a couple of bug fixes and usability tweaks. Once I reach a stable version 1.0, I may do a pull request. I'd need to check if Apache license will allow me to release it to the Atlassian Marketplace for free on my own.
