Defaults for log scaling

it would be nice to refine the log scaling a bit. At the moment, it seems that log-scaling is turned on by default for all variables. the problem with this is that temperatures in degrees Celsius should never be log scaled. In cases where the temperature value is negative, the scatterplot point doesn't show up because log-scaling returns an undefined value for negative numbers. ideally, log scaling would be disabled for all variables that are specified as "raw" in the "default scale" column of the Variables_ClimateBC_revised.csv file.

Perhaps a quick fix is to do linear-linear scale and then advanced users can toggle log on and off, but I will add this to the list of to-dos

ok that seems like a good quick fix, and then if we can disable the toggle for the "raw" variables that would be great in the longer run.
