Keeping Comments panel open on desktop

I would love if there was a way to keep the Comments panel open as you went through videos on Desktop, so it'd be easier to get involved with the community. I love reading the Comments section and participating, both by responding to other users and by liking comments.

For those slow like me, you can find the toggle in Settings under Appearance 😉
