Mac Mini 2.1

Hi everyone,

I found a Mac Mini in the basement and want to play Mighty Mike on it.
It has Mac OS X v10.6.8 installed, but the game shows an error when starting.

Error: Uncaught exception
Couldn't initialize SDL Video Subsystem

What can I do?

Hey, unfortunately the early Intel Macs are in a blind spot because the x86_64 build requires macOS 10.11 or later.

That said, version 3.0.2 does include experimental compatibility for PowerPC Macs on 10.4, so you may have better luck forcing the game to run through Rosetta. In the Finder, "Get Info" on the game and tick "Open using Rosetta".

I don't have any hardware compatible with Rosetta 1, so I'm not sure this will actually work, but it's worth a try.

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately it doesn't work. My basement find is simply too old, it's a shame, the game is really nice.

Hi, I continued searching online and found an Intel-optimized version. Incredibly, it works perfectly on my old Mac Mini 2.1.
