Hi @Nharington thanks a lot for getting involved and providing ideas! As much as I like your idea, I need to focus on the core features (codec support, bitrate, audio, presenter overlay) and stability for now, without the temptation of introducing too many new features. I encourage you to fork the repository and use any part of BetterCapture that might be useful to implement your idea. I will keep the discussion open for now, so other people can tune in and provide additional feedback. |

Hello! I would really like to see this idea. I've been looking for a good, reliable, and safe clipping software for my Mac for months, but to no avail. @Nharington Have you made your own fork yet? Also, on a final note, this software looks very promising, and I'm excited to see where it goes. |

Problem Statement
I recently switched over from windows to mac and miss Nvidia's shadow play functionality that allowed me to always record my screen and "clip" it if something happened (think funny moment in a video game or discord call)
I was considering coding this myself but also think it would be a good feature to add onto this already great project.
Proposed Solution
Allow the user to specify a screen, resolution, audio to be always recorded (and how long back to record) then have a looping recording that saves the specified clips until the time has passed and is no longer valid or until the user has "clipped" the that recording.
