Map variables across forms

Currently, these tools aim to map related variables across schema versions of a form. It would be great to have a meaningful way to map related variables across forms.

for example, total contributions is in both the 990 and 990 EZ (totcntrbs, totcntrbgfts), would be great to have a mapping somewhere that combines these into a single variable.

Could be done as a different model or other means. Happy to think through if this makes sense to do and, if it does, how to do it.

Hey @bcipolli thanks for noting this. I definitely agree that this should be done, and have some thoughts, but the short version is this: if a "correct" set of names existed--one that used the same name across forms--it could be added as an extra column in variables.csv.

've contributed a little to the master concordance file -- which is attempting to do this--and my hope is to cross-reference it with irsx via xpaths, but haven't done much on this lately (and am pretty jammed up on time until early next year).

@jsfenfen That's great. I think your suggestion is:

• Tool this project up to reference the master concordance file
• Leverage cross mappings that appear there with a new column in variables.
• focus contributing mappings there, as we come across them.

Is that correct? if so, may be something we could contribute.
