Howto remove user and data?

I have searched in the documentation but can not find it anywhere.
What is the best practice to remove a user eg user1@domain.com and all imported email messages?

You can manually set the "retained" date for the mails of that user:

UPDATE metadata SET retained = 0 WHERE `from` = 'user1@domain.com';

Then wait for the nightly cronjob or run /usr/libexec/piler/pilerpurge.py (use -d for a dry-run).
