Hello, by now the enterprise version and the open source edition of piler are two completely different products. I admit that more effort goes to the enterprise edition, however, the open source version is still actively maintained. (Though I'm a bit lagging with fixing the issues that users created) Currently the new design is for the enterprise product. There was a poll, and it was a tie whether to keep the current UI layout or adapt the enterprise layout, so I've kept the current. However, it's possible to add the new layout as an option to the open source version. The enterprise version's source code is closed, not even the paying customers can view it. To keep a competitive edge for the enterprise edition, those extra features probably won't get to the open source edition. By now these two products have diverged significantly. I don't create artificial boundaries between the audiences for the 2 products, both small and large organisations are free to use whatever editions they see fit for the use cases. |

Hi,
for testing purposes, I just installed the foss version from this repository. Both in the 1.4.8 aswell as in a newly built master-docker-image, the UI is still the old UI, and not the modern one used in the documentation for the enterprise version and on the demo instance.
Also, the enterprise version talks about a version 2.x, while this repository still has a 1.x version. Interestingly, commits to this repository are still being made.
Thank you very much, not only for answering these questions but also your great work in creating and maintaining piler!
Kind regards
