I started learning about ASR and Kaldi in 2018 and have been a big fan of the resources the Kaldi team has put together. I would like to second my concern regarding the townhall topic of "Training Students". For me, learning Kaldi had a steep learning curve and looking back a lot of it was because I had no prior knowledge about ASR. Although I don't think it's Kaldi's responsibility to "train" people in the basics of speech recognition, it would be nice to have some more beginner-friendly tutorials which introduce some of the basic concepts of ASR. I'm super grateful to be invited to the townhall and appreciate all the work you guys do for the community.
