Crash when opening music folders

From version 145 (2.3.10-beta-1) on, I'm unable to access the music folders interface in the app on an x86_64 version of Android 7.1.1 (Lenovo Yoga Book). The app just crashes and Android offers to restart it. It works fine in versions up to 144 though. It also works fine with later versions on my ARM devices, which use Android 9.

Tested on the x86_64 device:

• 141/2.3.8 ok (and earlier, I'm using Squeezer on this device for many years already)
• 143/2.3.9-beta-1 ok
• 144/2.3.9 ok
• 145/2.3.10-beta-1 crash
• 150/2.3.11 crash

Probably there is a change between 144 and 145 regarding the folder browser that is not strictly necessary, so that compatibility can be retained?

Thanks for the detailed description. Unfortunately, I am not able to reproduce the crash. I have tested on Android 7.1.1 and other Android versions, with no issues.
Furthermore, to my knowledge, there are no changes regarding music folders for this version.
Having said that, I think you are right, it should be possible to fix this, as it works on versions prior to 145.
But I need more info to be able to fix it. If you have access to logcat on your device, please run it around a crash, and post the results here.

I ran logcat while first opening music folders on version 144, then updated to 150 and tried three times, which resulted in three crashes and app restarts: squeezer_144_150.log

I can't tell which of the many errors reported is the one that causes the trouble and how they relate to each other, but I'm sure you know what to look for.

There does not seem to be anything related to opening of music folders, and no errors related to any recent changes in Squeezer.

Is music folders the only issue you have, or does it crash on any other actions?

On a side note, how do you install Squeezer?
If you install from Google Play, I might be able to see more.

Finally, you can try to uninstall and then reinstall Squeezer.

To be honest, I haven't checked, because navigating folders is basically the first thing I need to do before anything else. But I can check if I find more.

I installed it through Google Play until the problem appeared. Then I switched to use the Aurora Store frontend, because it's convenient to explicitly select a specific version of an app.

Finally, you can try to uninstall and then reinstall Squeezer.
