Action Taken
- Click on the Search icon on top, or
- Click on the Search menu item on the home screen
Expected Result
Typing a search term causes identical behavior in both cases
Actual Result
- Search menu initiated result UI element is just fine
- Top Search icon initiated result UI element is broken (see the screenshot below), clicking on elements causes a random (though always the same - apparently a hash match) track to be activated as a search result; this track's title is visible in blue instead of the "Search" UI element title (visible on the screenshot as "Serenity")
Additional Information
- Observed only on Pixel 7 (Pixel 6 and Pixel 8 didn't exhibit this problem - possibly due to different usage pattern)
- This problem doesn't exist initially after application installation, but once it shows up, it's there to stay
- This problem survives application force close and reappears
- This problem exists across at least two last versions (last time observed at 2.4.0)
- The only solution found to fix this problem so far is to remove and reinstall the application
- The track activated when this bug is different for different installation occurrences (which reinforces the hunch that it is hash based)
