Request for GEGL

The only thing that forces me to use Gimp 3 is the Batcher plugin (which allows you to create fx routines).
Gimp 3, apart from fx, is very regressive compared to Gimp 2.10.
I repeat my request to add GEGL usage in custom functions.

Hi, alas, in the end I have decided to discontinue this project and focus solely on Batcher due to time constraints on my part. Backporting this feature to GIMP 2 would be a massive undertaking. This would require, among other things, porting the entire custom procedure browser, creating a custom wrapper over GEGL operations (there is no way to do this elegantly in GIMP 2 in Python), and making sure the code is compatible with Python 2.7 and GIMP 2.

In theory, one could create a custom Python script that invokes a GEGL operation, which could then be added as a custom procedure. The usage of such a script would be quite cumbersome, I'm afraid - you'd have to enter command with arguments, much like e.g. the command that G'MIC generates, only you'd have to type it manually in this case.
