Can't get my translation to work

I'm on a Mac and have the Export Layers Plug-In installed in my User Library. It is working fine.
I wanted to contribute to the plugin and made a german translation following the Readme for translators. I used Poedit.
.mo file is in the specified path, but the translation is not activated (gimp locale is set to german. I also tried to call it via terminal with the language setting, but the UI still showed up in english).

If you use the latest work-in-progress revision, I changed the name of the .mo file from "export_layers.mo" to "gimp-plugin-export-layers.mo". I neglected to update the Readme, sorry about that.

If not, what path did you install the .mo file in? What were the commands you entered to change the locale and execute GIMP?

Thank you so much for the excellent plugin.
I'm using Gimp 2.10.14 (from gimp.org) on Windowe10 64bit.
I tried to translate into Polish.
Translation works only partially.
For the sample I also used the French version - and the translation is also incomplete (although it is included in the * .mo and * .po files).
What could be the reason for this problem?

With the release of 4.0, I fixed up translations, including the German translation. The .mo file must be recreated with the latest .pot file and placed in <plug-ins directory>/export_layers/locale/de_DE/LC_MESSAGES/gimp-plugin-export-layers.mo.

However, due to significant changes in 4.0, some translatable strings are now missing. Contributions are welcome. :)
