Dependency error with upgrade to Matrix

I want this to work so badly, but when I install it, I get a python 2.1 dependency error. Since Kodi is now built on 3.x, do you have any plan to update this? I would if I knew how...

I changed the version requirement in addon.xml to 3.0.0 and it installed but crashes right away.
