Is there a way to remove unused strings?

While the project grows, sometimes some strings are not used anymore or are changed.

It would be nice if the Gradle plugin has a task to remove unused string entries.

@kropp what is the current status of this and how would you compare this lib to using messages.properties (standard Spring boot setup)?

It would be nice with compile time failure for wrong use / unused strings, one disadvantage I see compared to messages.properties is that #{key} in thymeleaf templates saves a lot of "ceremony" that I think would be needed if every string had to be "resolved at the backend", I feel like the translation keys naturally fit better in the HTML templates.
