Ensure that we make is simple to do simple things

@MrtinoRG reported that it is difficult to build simple agents - such as the one he used for WhatCounts. We look deeper into this. We should ensure that simple things are still simple if we aim for the framework to be used. We should also eat our own dogfood and use the tools we build.
