Local network checklist

Use this checklist when Type, Quick, Voice, or Health cannot reach a local service.

1. Confirm Ollama on the PC

ollama list
Invoke-RestMethod http://127.0.0.1:11434/api/tags

From another device on the same LAN, open:

http://YOUR_SERVER_IP:11434/api/tags

A JSON model list confirms that Ollama is exposed to the LAN.

2. Configure the panel

Under Settings > Wi-Fi:

Wi-Fi name your SSID
Wi-Fi password your password

Tap Reconnect after changing Wi-Fi credentials.

Under Settings > Servers:

Server host private IP or LAN hostname only
Local AI port 11434
Voice port 8080

Enter only a host or IP in Server host. Select the model and reply language under Settings > Assistant.

Correct:

192.168.1.100

Incorrect:

http://192.168.1.100
192.168.1.100:11434
http://192.168.1.100:11434/api/generate

3. Confirm the on-demand Voice server

Double-click:

START_VOICE_SERVER.cmd

Wait for:

faster-whisper is ready.
Piper TTS is ready.
Application startup complete.

Then open from another LAN device:

http://YOUR_SERVER_IP:8080/health

The panel does not need to be restarted when Voice is started later. Tap Voice again or run Settings > Health.

4. Windows Firewall

Allow inbound TCP connections from the private/local subnet to:

11434 Ollama
8080 optional Voice server

Keep the Windows network profile set to Private for a trusted home LAN.

5. Router and Wi-Fi

  • Keep the panel and AI computer on the same reachable LAN.
  • Disable AP isolation, client isolation, or guest-network isolation.
  • Check whether a VPN blocks local-subnet traffic.
  • Use the computer's current private IP; DHCP may change it after a reboot.

6. Read panel diagnostics

Home intentionally hides addresses. Detailed values are available only under Settings and in Serial Monitor at 115200 baud.
