music popping when the screen is off

Hi, this viper is brilliant, but it happens to me that if the screen turns off and music continues playing, then after about 7 minutes the music starts to crackle and cut out. Isn't this some kind of bug? It doesn't work with the viper turned off, and I also have the battery usage set to unlimited on the viper.

What music app you are using? And what are the effect settings? This may caused by many facts. It is much better if you can do some tests with the control variable method and try to locate the reason, such as the device, the music app, settings or the DSP itself.

Hi, I use poweramp and yt music.... Without viper they work normally, but with viper about 7 minutes after the display turns off, the crackling and interruptions start....

I also use Poweramp, but the issue is not reproduced. You can do the following tests:

• Try different apps with same effect settings -> check app issue
• Try same app with different effect settings, enable each effect and find which one cause the issue -> check effect issue
• Try different devices with same app and effect settings -> check device issue

I also experienced this problem because I had installed a CPU performance tuning module. After adjusting the settings, the issue resolved itself.

I'm experiencing the same issue. In my case, the sound starts to cut out/distort when the screen turns off or I activate the lock screen. I'm using basic Sony 3.5mm jack headphones. I should emphasize that I don't have any memory optimizers or battery savers enabled; I only have the YT Morphe version of j-hc (or the VLC player) and Viper open, with no other applications running. I've also tried disabling background battery optimization in the Viper app, but it still fails. I don't have any profiles or settings activated either; it's just the default settings. The only options I enable are Viper Bass and Viper Bass Mono. If I disable all, the sound still fails.

I'm experiencing the same issue, Viper is working fine when the phone's turned on, but when the screen turns off, the speaker either:

• Crackles when there are no effects enabled
• Cut repeatedly when at least one effect is enabled

But earbuds work fine when the screen is off though.
Is there anyway to get logs for this?

Then you have proved that it is your speaker's issue, you should check your speaker's effect chain.

So, why does the speaker work normally and sound doesn't pop when using WstXDA's version of viper then, let me reiterate, the speaker works fine, no tampering, no battery optimization enforcement on the viper application itself, I even removed Samsung's sound quality and effects so it doesn't interfere, yet it still crackles when the screen is off with your version, I'm using the legacy drivers.

It may be due to android's doze mode, but that is just a theory.
