VLC does not react when trying to watch a stream

I installed the latest version and left the player box open (read that it defaults to VLC) and tried to watch a stream, but nothing happened. Livestreamer is up to date and installed. I also tried choosing the VLC path directly, also to no evail.

OS is Win 10 Home 64 Bit
