Noted that https://insights.linuxfoundation.org/project/bminor-binutils-gdb?timeRange=past365days&start=2025-03-25&end=2026-03-25 exists and should be replaced with a proper GNU Binutils project. |

I would like to request that we add the GNU Binutils (binutils) into LFX Insights.
The GNU Binutils (binutils) is a foundational reference ELF static linker and assembler that is used to create our baseline ABI in terms of ELF binary artifacts that we use in our language runtimes today. Binutils is the system static linker for RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE, RockyLinux, AlmaLinux, CentOS Stream, Fedora, Amazon Linux, Azure Linux etc.
Currently the binutils sources are hosted on Sourceware (https://sourceware.org/git/binutils-gdb.git) . The repository is a shared repository with the GNU Debugger (gdb) which I'll propose in a distinct discussion.
