Prolonged waiting state "exporting data"

Dear lsgs, I am writing here because I am experiencing some difficulties using your module to export data. Specifically, during the export process, the module seems to get stuck in a prolonged waiting state, displaying the message "exporting data". Then it stops like nothing ever happened. I have already consulted the documentation and tried some alternative configurations, but the problem persists.
I would be grateful if you could provide me with some guidance on how to resolve this issue, as I'm still learning and any advice would be valuable. Current Server Info: REDCap 14.0.10 · PHP 8.0.28 (Linux/Unix OS) · MySQL 8.0.26

Hello @giuliapugliese. Happy to try and help and sorry for being slow). Can you give me some more details about the problem? Things like:

• What version of the module are you using? If not the latest, then can you upgrade? (Your REDCap version v14.0.10 should support the latest module version v2.3.2, I believe.)
• Is the problem occurring with any reports when you do not have the module enabled?
• Does it happen with reshaped reports, sql reports, or both?
• Does the problem occur the same for reports in all projects - even a very simple one? If so, are you able to share the XML for the simple project where you can see the problem occurring?

One other thing: can you try with this box in the system-level module settings ticked? It can help some people where their network configuration causes some issues with verifying their server cerificate.

Hello @lsgs , thank you for your kind message! I will try to give you all the details:

• I'm currently using your module in v2.3.2;
• the problem only occurs when i configure the module to work on that specific report. I mean i can export data from any other report in the same project, Only the one whose report ID is mentioned in the module's configuration section remains in a prolonged "exporting data" state until I terminate it;
• the problem happens with reshaped reports, I haven't tried with an sql report as I'm not sure i know what that is;
• I tried with a very simple test project and I attached here the XML (hope I got it right: I used the "Download metadata & data (XML)" option);
• I can confirm I ticked the "Disable internal certificate verification" box (I read about this in your documentation) and the problem persists.

I am very grateful for your help! I apologize in advance for my lack of experience, but please let me know if there is anything I can do or test.

P.S. i read this module makes use of hook functions: is there something i have to set (or ask my collegues to set for me) about those?

Hello @giuliapugliese. Thanks very much for the XML file. I was able to create a project for it and I was able to fix up one problem that I found in how the module was processing your report, although I am not certain that it is necessarily the problem as you described it. I'm putting out a new release with this fix and some others, so please look out for that and retry once you have installed it. Let me know whether it solves your problem.

Did you ever find a resolution @giuliapugliese? There have been some Community posts on this topic with some potential avenues to explore for a resolution. e.g.

In each case it is some kind of server configuration issue so there is nothing I can do in the module to help, sorry.
