I have prepared a Debian package 'maliit-inputcontext-gtk' now and have tried to get maliit-keyboard up-and-running with GTK-3 applications (e.g. mate-terminal, pluma, remmina).
In the (MATE session's) environment, I set GTK_IM_MODULE=maliit and QT_IM_MODULE=maliit and export them to the environment. With Qt5 applications, I get the expected result. Whenever I enter a text-like field, the maliit-keyboard pops up on screen.
However, when clicking into text-like input fields in GTK applications, nothing happens.
I see that this project has been stale for 7 years. Is inputcontext-gtk really still an active project? Am I doing something wrong? Is there any alternative to providing GTK application support with maliit-keyboard?
