Scanner not being detected in NegPy but can be used with other sane compatible frontends such as scanimage

Problem

I currently use a Pacific Image PrimeFilm 3650u scanner. I am able to use this scanner in other frontends such as the scanimage command line tool but it's undetectable in NegPy. I'm using Manjaro with the latest LTS kernel 6.18.33 and running NegPy through the Appimage version 0.26.0.

Results

Scanner unable to be seen in GUI. Running Appimage through terminal gives me the results:
negpy.negpy.infrastructure.scanners.sane_backend: Device pieusb:libusb:001:011 has no recognised film sources — skipping

Hi, i think i might have the same issue #293. (i just found this one too late)
Your scanner seems to be using the sane-pieusb SANE backend, which does not provide a source option that NegPy uses to identify scanners.
To verify it is the same problem, could you confirm if SANE provides a source option in you scanner capabilities?
If you want i have attached a test script, but feel free to use your own.

I just looked at your issue and we have very similar scanners. I think Pacific Image used to basically just reuse Reflecta scanners.
I ran your test script and as you said it doesn't seem like sane provides a source option. I'll attach my results from your script for future use.

Looks like there's a similar issue for Nikon Coolscan IVs (and anything else using the coolscan3 SANE backend, man link: http://www.sane-project.org/man/sane-coolscan3.5.html) where no --source option is provided.

Update: I was able to patch this locally and was able to scan several slides with my Coolscan IV and MA-20 adapter. Currently looking at adding support for Coolscan's autofocus as while the scans worked, they were rather blurry.

Thanks for adding the fix to the new release! It seems to work correctly now. I just finished some testing and it worked great. My only issue with the new update is that it won't fit on my laptop screen. (1366x768) But I'll make a new issue for that.
