🔗 Upcoming changes to data retention for Events API, Atom feed, /timeline and /dashboard-feed features - GitHub Changelog

As part of this change, we are adding an additional event (DiscussionEvent) as a new EventType for the Events API.

DiscussionEvents will be supported in the Events API starting January 30, 2025. The creation and updating of GitHub discussions by users could be included in the daily report (nippou).

GitHub support told me that DiscussionEvents has not yet been added to the Events API, and that it is not listed in GitHub's event type documentation.

He is checking with the relevant teams.

According to GitHub support:

The engineering team confirmed that the discussion event type has not been released for the API yet, and there is no definite timeline for its release. They will work on updating the blog post to prevent any confusion.
