Status of the repository

I've been planning to remove the GoogleCast dependency for a long time and this repo seems to be exactly what I'm looking for but the last commit is from three years ago. Is anyone using it for production apps and has had any problems with changes to the Cast protocol being incompatible with the current state of this framework?

Also, maybe it's possible to drop all dependencies but swift-protobuf and add support for spm.

Reading through this repo as a study in how much of the Cast protocol you have to reimplement to escape Google's SDK - the protobuf-over-TLS layer is impressive work.

Genuine question about why projects like this stall: did iOS 14's local network permission change break discovery in a way that wasn't worth chasing? I've seen a few Bonjour-based projects go quiet at exactly that point, and I'm curious whether that was the wall here or whether it was simply that the receiver-side protocol kept moving.

Also curious whether anything from this ended up inside CastSync.
