Midi file downloaded but the contents are not recognized by a midi editor

I have downloaded a midi file of a groove edited with groovescribe, but the content of the file it is not recognized by a standard midi editor/player.
Do I have to do a preliminary configuration or use a specific browser?

I am able to load on MuseScore 3 and 4. Have you tried it there?
What is the "standard midi editor/player" you are trying out?
