I made a few improvements that I'd like to contribute, but first can you declare an open source license at the top of hash_db.py?
Would you be comfortable selecting GPL, BoostLicense, BSD, etc.?
The improvements I made include:
Selectable algorithm per db, show progress with speed in MB/s, path option for mounted RO or read-only media, symlink mode, verify/update of only a subset of files/dirs, tolerate and report permission errors, and many more improvements.
