Not able to get faces recognized

Hello,

My environment is as follows:

• Nextcloud 31.0.8
• Recognize 9.0.3
• No WASM mode, no GPU mode

These are the steps that I'm following in order to test the app:

1. Install and configure the Recognize app. No particular problems in this step: models are correctly downloaded and all checks are green in the UI.
2. Given that the app recognizes faces from contact photos, I create a Contact with a good-quality, face-centered picture, cropped by a picture used in following step.
3. I upload the same picture in Files
4. Wait for the next classify job run and once it runs check if a label has been created and assigned to the picture. Also checking in Photos->People but not faces or unassigned photos show up.

this is not true anymore, where did you read this?

Recognize now groups any similar faces in photos together so you can name them yourself. No contacts involved. For this a minimum of 120 faces per user is necessary, though, so one file with a face is definitely not enough.

So if I understand correctly the photos are tagged person1, person2, etc and then the user should rename the tags to friendname1, friendname2 ...?

Moreover: Is the minimum number of faces documented and tunable?

The 120 faces is not tunable. It is already tuned. Below 120 faces you will not get good results.
