+1 . I have a need to run scripts such as starting a webdav server, or running "Trash" folder cleanup after backups. |

Hello, this is now possible through Backup Webhooks |

This is such a convoluted setup! Instead of just running a bash script as in Borg or Backrest. Not using it because of this. |

While webhooks are a nice addition, they are an over complicated approach to simple things like triggering pg_dump, starting/stopping containers, etc. They also make it harder to debug than scripts as logs are now distributed among the recipients of the POST request. I'd suggest going with running scripts which not only simplify local tasks but also would cover the webhook scenario by just using I assume this decision is mostly to avoid breaking isolation from the container, but perhaps offering ZeroByte as a binary instead of a container would be a trade-off some (like me) would be willing to take |

There is one feature which is really needed for full backups, especially on Unraid Docker.
In Borg there is a per repository or per schedule option to run a script at start and end of each backup.
This is needed for backing up docker containers, which are running live databases (Immich, Paperless etc). So we can stop containers before backup and restart after, otherwise the backup might not be able to restore correctly.
