Example of Sending Data to a UART Bluetooth Module

Firstly, I would like to say a big thank you. I have found your example code very useful where there is not much information regarding Bluez on the Internet.
However, I'm not sure how to communicate with a UART bluetooth module, e.g. HM-10.
Do you think you could show some sample code to achieve this? Currently I only know how to pair with a device, not actually communicate with it and send data.

Hello Ryan, No need to thank me, not building a space-shuttle here, you are welcome, happy to help. I am not too familiar with the HM-10 module, but it seems that there are essentially two ways: one is to use 2 modules (1 local to RPi and one remote on a particular slave) and use a serial comm between them (libraries). Another one is to address the remote HM 10 via RPi's built-in hardware directly, which however might become involved since requiring custom (gatt) profiles. Can't offer any code, but would like to look into it myself if i manage to get my hands on a cheap module this weekend, regards NK

My intention is to have the host program on linux (with a built-in bluetooth chip) communicate to an STM32 with the HM 10 module (the same principles apply to an RPi as well).
At the moment, I don't understand how to send data via bluez to the HM-10.
For the time being, I'll buy a usb dongle and communicate over the COM port it provides.....
