RemoteViews object has a .apply method https://developer.android.com/reference/android/widget/RemoteViews#apply(android.content.Context,%20android.view.ViewGroup) which can be used to create configuration activities for widgets but it will need some reorganization that's why I thought it's better to let you make it work, if you like to remove the duplication of layouts.
