Currently if you have a L-2-R layout you end up copy/pasting a ton of extra tokens. Even just copying the current text buffer to the keyboard for be preferable.
Other options might be a cli interface where you can perform slicing
.copy 0-10 copy the last ten lines to your keyboard for example.
