From 5ad03d0ac33ebd182c5e20fdec10a0a6e176610a Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: HuggeK <48095810+HuggeK@users.noreply.github.com> Date: Sun, 30 Aug 2026 00:29:23 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] docs(parts): fill the gaps a build order exposed Builders order from PARTS.md, so a part that is needed in practice but missing, unnamed, or unlinked becomes a second order and a second wait. Working through a build surfaced several. New rows: - Raspberry Pi Active Cooler (SC1148, ~$8). The kiosk drives the UI, rolling-buffer capture, and FFT processing continuously, and a passively cooled Pi 5 throttles under that sustained load. - STEMMA QT / Qwiic-to-Qwiic cable (~$1). The section already covered wiring the LIS3DH at the Pi but not mounting it elsewhere, which is the actual use case for a tilt sensor. Length is left TODO because it depends on the enclosure and the case is still in development. - Qwiic-to-Dupont single cable (Adafruit 4397, Mouser 485-4397, $0.95), so the optional inclinometer can be ordered from the shared Mouser project instead of splitting the order with Amazon. 150 mm is the only length Adafruit makes in that JST-SH-to-female-socket configuration. - Qwiic-to-male-headers cable (Adafruit 4209, Mouser 485-4209, $0.95). Its male pins chain into the 75 mm female/female strip below, so the LIS3DH run can be lengthened from wires already on hand rather than committing to one fixed Qwiic-to-Qwiic length while the case layout is still unsettled. Listed as an alternative, so it does not move totals. Jumper wires, previously three rows that just said "Any", now named and split by gender because both are needed: - Female/female, 75 mm (Adafruit 794, Mouser 485-794, $3.95) for the sound-trigger runs and the OPS243 -> Pi ground. The Pi GPIO header, the OPS243 J3 header, and headers soldered to the SEN-14262 are all male pins, so both ends have to be female. The IWR6843 GATE -> BCM17 wire comes out of the same strip and now points at the same part. - Female/male, 75 mm (Adafruit 1953, Mouser 485-1953, $1.95) as header-pin extensions. The Touch Display 2's supplied 3-pin power cable spans header pins 2/4/6 and so covers both 5V pins; an extension re-presents one for the OPS243. 75 mm is the shortest length Mouser stocks in either gender. Every row above carries Adafruit's direct list price and says so, because the rows link to Mouser and Mouser's prices for those part numbers are unverified. Clarified rows: - The DS3502's role was a bare TODO. It is intended for the SEN-14262 R17 gain trim: in series with a fixed 37k resistor the 10K digital pot gives a software-adjustable 37-47k range, so preamp gain can be tuned from code instead of desoldering a fixed resistor. Not built or tested yet, and the row says so -- nothing drives it in code and sound-trigger-wiring.md still documents a soldered R17. - The IWR6843LEVM cable is named as micro-USB rather than pushing a "check your board revision" question onto the builder. - The Qwiic-to-Dupont kit row spells out that it avoids soldering a header onto the breakout. Cost summary: Power & Accessories $27 -> $37 (cooler $8, F/M ribbon $2) and Sound Trigger $18 -> $17, the latter because naming the F/F strip replaced a $5 guess with its $3.95 list price. Net effect on the subtotal ~$400 -> ~$409 and the total ~$556 -> ~$565. New optional inclinometer line at $16 (LIS3DH $5 + Qwiic-to-Dupont kit $10 + Qwiic-to-Qwiic cable $1); it sits under the optional section, which the subtotal does not roll up. Docs-only: no source, config, or build file is touched.
