AI-Powered Climate & Settlement Impact Analyzer
Project Description
The goal of this project is to build a web platform that predicts and visualizes how climate change impacts human settlements. The system will:
- Ingest climate datasets (temperature rise, rainfall, flood maps, sea-level rise)
- Overlay population and settlement maps to identify vulnerable areas
- Use AI/ML to predict migration risks and future settlement hotspots
- Provide an interactive dashboard for visualizing risks and possible interventions
This project will help policymakers, researchers, and communities plan sustainable settlements under climate challenges.

- IPCC Climate Change Reports (public datasets)
- OpenStreetMap (settlement + infrastructure data)
- Example Geospatial Tools: Leaflet.js, Google Earth Engine
Required Tech Skills
- Python (for ML + geospatial processing)
- QGIS / GeoPandas / Shapely (for spatial analysis)
- React.js + Leaflet.js / Mapbox (for web visualization)
- ML models for risk prediction (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch)
