Fedora 43 support status and installation difficulties

Hello Sunshine team,

I would like to ask about official support for Fedora 43.

At the moment, installing Sunshine on Fedora 43 is quite difficult.
Despite multiple attempts (clean system, manual compilation, dependency resolution), the process is complex and error-prone, especially on modern setups using:

• Wayland
• Recent Fedora kernels
• PipeWire
• VAAPI / iGPU-based encoding
• GPU passthrough environments (VFIO)

Compared to other distributions, the lack of an official and maintained installation method (RPM, COPR, or documented build steps specifically for Fedora 43) makes deployment unnecessarily complicated.

Is Fedora 43 officially supported or planned to be supported soon?
Are there any plans for:

• an official RPM package
• a COPR repository
• or updated Fedora-specific build documentation?

Sunshine is an amazing project and works very well once running, but the installation experience on Fedora 43 is currently a significant barrier.

You can use our beta copr repo.

We don't align our release cycles with Fedora, or any other distro, and that's why it's not enabled in the stable copr yet.

Thanks a lot for the clarification!

I had initially tried the stable COPR, which did not work on Fedora 43 in my case. After switching to the beta COPR mentioned in the installation guide, everything is now working correctly.

It might be worth making the beta COPR more explicit or recommended in the installation documentation for Fedora 43, as the stable option can be misleading and cause unnecessary confusion.

Thanks again for your work on Sunshine — once installed, it works great.
