Does Sunshine support sharing only a specific app on the host #921
-
Select Topic AreaQuestion BodyDoes Sunshine support sharing only a specific app on the host, even if the app is minimized. For example would love to use sunshine for my kids, meanwhile I would work on the host while the play somewhere else a game that is minimized or loved to another gnome/kde windows workspace. The input, video and sound for that app would go to the moonlight remote tv but what I do and work on the host would be independent. Does it already do that? |

No, Sunshine streams the desktop. A client can then control the host as if they were sitting at the computer. |

Thank you. So basically a workaround would be running a docker or vm environment in which sunshine would be running am guessing snd a pass through for the gpu? |

Thank you. That cleared doubts. |

I think it's harder with docker because it shares the host kernel. Therefore the input could still go through to the docker host. A VM would completely isolate it, though it consumes more resources.
