Changes

Hot on the heels of the latest unstable stream update a mere two days ago, we're landing yet another round of new stuff hot off the proverbial press.

Systemd upgraded to 259.7

We have upgraded from systemd 258.9 to systemd 259.7. The systemd 259.x release sees the addition of systemd-vmspawn for spawning virtual machines along other goodies. Changelog here.

Moss download and CAS reliability fixes

A user contacted us about a spurious issue when updating. Upon closer examination, it revealed a tiny bug in how we look up cached assets in our Content Addressable Store when verifying said store with sudo moss state verify.

However, while digging into that issue, tarkah took the opportunity to add a few extra verification checks that proved to cost almost nothing, and which will give us much more robust guarantees that assets have been downloaded and cached correctly going forward.

We recommend that people who have previously seen spurious errors when running sudo moss state verify re-run said command with the updated moss.

Fixes

• Moss now does more robust checking during download and unpack of assets to the Content Addressable Store in /.moss/
• PostgreSQL now has better integration with AerynOS' PAM stack, and is systemd .socket activated out-of-the-box. The .service file can still be manually enabled of course.
