My card apparently has issues with ko-fi. Tried by itself and via Apple pay, both times told that my card (a US debit card) does not support this kind of payment. Sorry, I tried. |

Thank you for trying and also thank you for the feedback. We had set up Ko-Fi in the background to take these payment methods so something seemingly isn't right here. We really do appreciate the attempt! Edit: I can see the failed transaction and have some more information however probably not best to discuss in a public setting. |

Rats, I thought I could do it by filling ApplePay with the cash and thus not use the debit card. Same message, alas. It’s just not going to work for me. |

As AerynOS uses Github, have you considered allowing sponsorship through it? I would like to sponsor AeronOS, but weary to use my credit card on pages I don't know. regards, |

Hi Seth, Thank you for your interest in Sponsoring AerynOS. We use the Stripe payment processor for both direct sponsorships (preferred, due to it taking the lowest fees) or as the Processor behind our Ko-fi page. In addition, over time, we plan to migrate away from GH in an orderly fashion, so it does not make a lot of sense to tie AerynOS sponsorship to the GH platform. Does that answer your question? |

Hey Seth, Thank you very much for the sponsorship! It is kindly received! Just for reference and to follow up what Ermo said, here is a link to a blog post where I went into a bit more detail on sponsorship methods and the fees linked to them. https://aerynos.com/blog/2026/02/28/february-2026-project-update/#donation-methods The percentage is variable a some fees are fixed whilst others work out as a percentage of the sponsorship value. On a €5 payment via Stripe, the fees are around 9.3% whereas with Ko-Fi it increases to around 16% and from what I could gather, it would be around 20% via soemthing like OpenCollective. |

Over the last couple of weeks the team has changed the accounts we use for receiving donations for the project as we streamline our back end processes. As a result of this process, we have aligned on using Ko-Fi as our primary method to receive donations.

Due to the way Ko-Fi works, in essence, they are not able to redirect existing donation subscriptions to our new account. As such, we took the difficult decision to cancel all existing subscriptions to ensure a clean break from the old accounts and as a way of ensuring all monies coming into the project from now on, come into one place.
This does however mean that our current monthly donation income has dropped significantly to currently approximately €16 per month.
It is important to note that the AerynOS team has been bearing the cost of running the project for the past few months and doing so on an ongoing basis is not an issue. If however, you are able and willing, the team would be greatly appreciative of any donations that people would like to make to the project.
Both one-off and monthly donations are possible and all donations will go to paying for our infrastructure and other costs first and foremost. For transparency, no one in the project is currently taking any personal payment for contribution into the project.
