The semi-transparent box that appears under the text on the screensaver seems to be hardcoded.
The hiby_screensavers.view file doesn't contain either text_bg.png or topbar_shadow.png.
Even if you remove them, the semi-transparent box still appears.
If anyone has any idea for how I could modify it, let me know.

Disregard what I said. The semi-transparent box is not hardcoded.

@noisetta The hiby_player binary supports up to 6 themes. What you think about adding another 2 themes based on the Evangelion R4 and Miku M500?

Hey @Jepl4r, love the idea and those themes would definitely get attention in the community. The main concern I have with bundling them into the main release is copyright — both Evangelion and Miku are licensed IP, and the R4/M500 themes are HiBy's own licensed assets, so distributing them in the public repo could be a problem.

What I'd suggest is developing them as optional community themes distributed separately — a separate repo or release attachment rather than bundled into the core firmware. That way they're still available to anyone who wants them without putting the main project at legal risk. It also keeps the maintenance burden down since every change to the core theme files currently needs to be replicated across all variants.

The binary supports 6 themes so the slots are there if we ever want to go that route officially with original artwork. Thoughts?

I was thinking having the theme use the colors of Evangelion and Miku with some icons in their style, just to resemble the look. No licensed assets.
