The final un-tacked side of this project includes reading and controlling the Smart Trainers directly in python rather than through Simulant. This could be done through Python and ANT+, or Python and BTLE, or something different like a socket to a MATLAB script. Either way, this is the last major function required.
Major Tasklist/Checkpoints

  • Connect and communicate with ANT USB stick with python
  • Define messages and capabilities needed for smart trainer setup and communication
  • Connect requriements to communication methods with ANT stick (source, msg type, contents) based on ANT standards
  • Construct/verify required message types in libAnt library
  • Develop startup, channel configuration and connection procedure with trainer
  • Develop independent continuous reading procedure
  • Integrate tx control messages into reading procedure - Asynchronous Sending channel from local node to continuous scan on trainer
  • Integrate control method into auto test procedure
  • Integrate functions of control method into a Qt Widget
  • Implement QtWidget into Main Program
