Directly install pakage on ps5

Thank you for your hard work.
I wish it were possible to add direct PKG installation support to the application. As you know, jailbroken PS5 consoles often face storage limitations because of the large size of games. Uploading PKG files first and then installing them is quite time-consuming.
I have tried several other methods for direct installation, but unfortunately none of them worked

for now you can use directpackage installer with etahen DPI v2 but i'am sure phantomptr working on it

some times we get ''Delete failed: PS5 rejected the request: fs_delete_failed'' or ''Installed, but via a fallback that may not launch on this firmware. The installation order needs to be correct. Sometimes the installation order, which should be installing the base game first, then the updates and DLC, is not done in a row, and because the files are uploaded first and then installed, a lot of space in games with heavy updates and DLC is occupied and waiting for the base to be installed.

Update — direct/streaming install is coming as an opt-in beta. 🎉

The plan: install a .pkg by streaming it straight from your PC to the PS5 in one pass, so the package never has to be fully uploaded to PS5 storage first. That removes the "double storage" problem (today the .pkg and the installed game both take space) and the separate upload step — and it means you can install a game even when pkg + game wouldn't fit at once.

How it'll work: the app already has the pieces — the engine can serve a .pkg over HTTP and the PS5's installer can install from an http:// URL. The new "Direct install (beta)" option will point the PS5 at the .pkg on your PC and let it download+install directly.

Why beta / the honest caveats:

• Your PC has to stay connected and serving for the whole install (it's streaming live).
• It hasn't been tested on every firmware yet — on some firmwares the direct path may fall back or fail, so the normal upload-then-install stays the default and the reliable path. It'll be clearly labeled beta.
• The data-loss guard for updates/DLC stays fully in place.

On the related points from the thread:

• Install order (base → update → DLC) + the pile-up while uploading: being addressed — the queue will install base games before updates before DLC, and direct install removes the upload pile-up entirely.
• "Delete failed: fs_delete_failed" / multi-DLC stalling during the FW12 black screen / "may not launch": all being fixed (post-install settle waits + delete retry + a more accurate may-not-launch check).

bloodborne update is ok but get this error and hollow night get system software crash other games not installed automatic and i do it manually and freeze console for 10sec while installing (test on 12.40)

Good news — this already exists. ps5upload can install a .pkg that's already on the PS5 (or a USB drive plugged into it) without uploading it from your PC first: Install Package → Install from USB / external drive (added in v3.3.16), or point it at a path the console can already see via the File System browser. It stages the pkg to internal storage and installs through Sony's safe installer. If that flow isn't working for your case, let us know the firmware + the error and we'll dig in.

The direct/streaming install you asked for is now here — merged in #181 as "Stream (beta)" on the Install Package screen.

What it does, exactly what you wanted: pick a .pkg on your PC and it installs straight from your computer over HTTP — the PS5 pulls the bytes directly, so nothing is staged on the console's storage first. That removes the double-storage problem (pkg + installed game both taking space) and the separate upload step.

How it works: the engine serves your pkg over HTTP and hands the PS5's installer that URL; the app then verifies the title actually landed before calling it done (it doesn't just trust the "queued" response). It's labeled beta because a streaming install needs your PC to stay connected for the whole install, and reliability can vary by firmware — if it doesn't take, the normal upload-then-install path is still there and always works.

The underlying DPI install daemon also got a big reliability fix in the same release (it was crashing the on-console helper on some firmware after a rejected install — now fixed and hardware-verified on FW 9.60/5.10).

Give "Stream (beta)" a try on the next release and let me know how it holds up on your console. Thanks for the persistent nudge on this one 🙏
