Confirmed as two related frontend defects, not an engine/parser gap. Manifest Dread's oracle text ("Put one onto the battlefield face down as a 2/2 creature... Turn it face up any time for its mana cost if it's a creature card") is fully parsed (Effect::ManifestDread, Effect::TurnFaceUp), and the engine already implements CR 708.5 correctly: visibility.rs::reveal_face_down_identity_to_controller sets the real obj.name/printed_ref on the wire for the controlling player's own face-down permanents (covered by the existing test controller_can_see_own_face_down_manifested_card). The bug is that the client throws this away: client/src/viewmodel/cardProps.ts:48 — publicName() unconditionally returns FACE_DOWN_CARD_NAME whenever obj.face_down is true, with no check for whether the viewer is the controller, so the engine-revealed identity never reaches the UI even for your own permanents. Separately, turning a permanent face up is dead in the client: GameActiontype"TurnFaceUp"is declared inclient/src/adapter/types.ts:1820but there is no dispatch site anywhere in the React components — no button or menu entry ever sends it, even though the engine'smorph::turn_face_up/GameAction::TurnFaceUp` handler is fully wired and tested. This affects the whole morph/megamorph/manifest/disguise/cloak card class, not just this card.
