API Terms of Use

These API Terms of Use govern access to and use of the What's on? API and any data, metadata, identifiers, images, links, ratings, rankings, or other content returned by the API, including data originating from third-party sources (collectively, the "API Data").

By accessing or using the API, you agree to these terms.

1. Permitted use

You may use the API and API Data only for lawful, non-commercial purposes and only in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, contractual restrictions, and third-party rights.

2. Prohibited use

You may not:

  • use the API or API Data for commercial purposes;
  • use any third-party sourced API Data for commercial purposes;
  • use the API or API Data in a way that infringes intellectual property, privacy, publicity, database, contractual, or other rights;
  • use the API in violation of documented rate limits or technical restrictions.

3. End-user responsibility

You are solely responsible for how you access, store, display, transform, redistribute, or otherwise use the API Data.

You are solely responsible for determining whether your use of the API or API Data is lawful and permitted in your jurisdiction and for your use case, including whether any permissions, licenses, notices, consents, or attributions are required before using the API Data.

This includes any third-party sourced data made available through the API. Any commercial use of such data is prohibited.

4. No warranty as to API Data

The API and API Data are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. No representation or warranty is made that the API or API Data is accurate, complete, current, lawful to use for any particular purpose, uninterrupted, or error-free.

5. Disclaimer of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of this API disclaims all liability arising out of or related to:

  • your use of or reliance on the API or API Data;
  • any claim that your use of the API or API Data violates a law, contract, or third-party right;
  • any loss, damage, cost, or expense resulting from your use, reuse, publication, redistribution, or other exploitation of the API or API Data.

6. Suspension and termination

Access to the API may be limited, suspended, or terminated at any time, with or without notice.

7. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the API after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
