Vertical line is fine again when passport photo is removed. Otherwise, couldn't find a way to fix it. Would it be possible for you to fix it here and send the changes back to CTAN/TeXLive?
There's also a StackExchange Q/A on this where English is used. For some reason, I can only reproduce it with German.
