There is no support for "LE Long Range" in Linux yet.
And there is no point in increasing the firmware size for everyone.

For those who can figure out Linux themselves, LE LR is available in thermometers with TLSR825x.

Have a THB2 to play with and was wondering if LE Long Range could be enabled by "borrowing" code from your other repo you linked into this work myself then.

No. There is a different chip.

PHY62x2 requires some modifications to the SDK code used. Lots of additions.

The official PHY SDKs is not built on GCC. Only on Keil (Keil is not open source or free software.).
But even there some improvements are needed.
