export_data() can't read spaces

Hi,

I am trying to use your package to easily export the data from an ODK Briefcase Storage folder. The function does not seem to be able to read spaces and I can't figure out the correct escape key. There are spaces both in the directory path (I tested a different path without spaces and the "target" argument worked there) and the form name aka "id" argument (logistically harder to go into Briefcase storage folder to change all of the form names and references to the form names to not have spaces). I am running R 4.2.1 from R Studio 2023.06.0 build 421 on Windows 10 Enterprise. I have Java 8 installed.

Please let me know if you have any workaround ideas.

can you give me an idea of the syntax you are using that is causing the error?

Please note that directory paths in Windows machines works very differently especially with regard to spaces so my initial instinct is that is what is causing the problem. I recommend trying a programmatic approach in R to retrieving the path to your ODK Briefcase storage. Function such as list.files() can provide you this specific path specification that will be consistent with a Windows machine.
