Login window shows blank popup with only “OK” button when connecting to my server

First of all, thank you for all the amazing work you’re doing on this project!

I set up my Kawari server on Linux and want to connect from my Windows PC. I built the server, configured the config.yaml with the correct data paths, and ran cargo run — all services start fine.

On my PC, I placed winmm.dll and launchertweaks.toml in the game’s boot folder, updated the tweaks file to use my server’s IP instead of localhost, and launched ffxivboot64.exe. The Kawari login window appeared, and I logged in with an account I created on the server’s web page.

After clicking Login, a small blank window appears with only an OK button and no message.

Thanks again for your work — just wanted to report this issue and see if there’s something I might have missed.

That seems like it should work based on your instructions, you're just hitting two areas that don't receive regular testing (connecting via another computer and launchertweaks.) I'll replicate it this weekend and try to figure out what fell through.

I was able to confirm and fix the issue under WINE, however the game fails to launch with a different error. I'm hoping that's just setup issues on my end, can you confirm by trying the new LauncherTweaks build once it completes?

A few things to try as I attempt to reproduce it over the weekend:

• Ensure a firewall isn't blocking the (non-standard) ports we use. These are unfortunately undocumented, but I'll list them below manually:

• Since you're connecting from another machine, the server_name config option needs to be set. I'm unsure if this matters for your current issue, this will have to be fixed anyway for you to connect to the World server:

OK, I added the server name config options, and now when I enter my username and password, and I click OK, then there's a play button. When I click the play button, I get the error unable to launch application. Launch using the ffxivboot.exe file. (0)

Great! That's the same error I got on my system, so I'll need to solve that next.
