fwiw, i'm trying to implement automatic extraction of index.d.ts with tsdown for package that uses @reduxjs/toolkit/query and exports api and react hooks, and tsdown fails during dts generation with:

[UNLOADABLE_DEPENDENCY] Could not load .../node_modules/@reduxjs/toolkit/dist/uncheckedindexed.d.ts
import { UncheckedIndexedAccess } from './uncheckedindexed.js';
No such file or directory

there is no @reduxjs/toolkit/dist/uncheckedindexed.d.ts, it's @reduxjs/toolkit/dist/uncheckedindexed.ts because it depends on being a .ts file

@EskiMojo14 thanks for quick response, just to clarify: it means that before v3 it won't be possible to extract d.ts from @reduxjs/toolkit/query based packages with tsdown, correct?

and it's a bit of a side question but i tried to do that with tsup, dts-bundle-generator and api-extractor and all of them produce huge index.d.ts files that include bunch of the @reduxjs/toolkit/query internal types, is there any "right" way to keep type declarations tight and minimalistic for packages i use as part of monorepo?

ideally you should keep RTK as a dependency and find a way to mark it as external, so it remains as import statements rather than inlining it
