[Feature Request] Speculative hold

Adding QMK's speculative hold. I could take a crack at this if it's something you're interested in supporting, I'm not sure how much work it will require.

I would be great if we can add a parameter like eager_mode in morse behavior config, which does the same thing. The state machine now is quite complex, so I prefer to have complete tests first, and then implement it.

Sounds good! It will take me a bit to implement this (I'm not very familiar with the codebase, but I did come from QMK). Are there any good resources for learning?

It's not very detailed and I think the best way is to read source code. The whole structure of the core is event driven so you can just focus on what you are developing. To add a test case you can first check:
