Epub TOC not displaying

In some cases the Epub TOC fails to render, resulting in an an empty drawer

I have tried on both EPUB2 and EPUB3. Neither one gets a proper display for the TOC. I wonder if it is something to do the the dimensions of my screen. Samsung Galaxy Note 10+.

Size 6.8 inches, 114.0 cm2 (~91.0% screen-to-body ratio)
Resolution 1440 x 3040 pixels, 19:9 ratio (~498 ppi density)

I have noticed no sync issues.

Thanks for the additional details I'll definitely investigate that into more detail. In principle if Kavita can read/display it, then Kover should too, as it doesn't go downloading the whole files and implement full-on EPUB processing, but rather gets the data as processed by Kavita through its API and renders it.
I think we are either landing in some silent failure in either fetching or somewhere down the line storing the server data in the local database, finally not being able to pull the data and display it.
